Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores in Bakersfield, CA is hiring a Kitchen Team Member to deliver friendly, efficient service and keep the deli stocked and clean.

No experience? No problem — we provide on-the-job training while you learn the menu, food safety standards, and daily prep routines; you’ll move between duties and support cashiers as needed, with opportunities for growth. This role includes lifting up to 25 pounds and working in varied temperatures.

Qualifications

• General customer service duties and ability to assist cashiers.
• Ability to follow food safety guidelines and prep instructions.
• Willingness to cross-train in other store roles.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions about menu offerings and assist customers.
• Prepare deli products such as salads, sandwiches, and fruit cups.
• Maintain cleanliness of deli, coffee, and fountain bars during shift.
• Move between departments through cross-training as needed.

As a Kitchen Team Member, your role goes beyond daily tasks. You will interact with people from all walks of life, brightening their day with top-notch customer service and maintaining a clean, stocked deli area. No experience? No problem! We will teach you!

Job Functions:

• General customer service duties including, but not limited to, answering questions about menu offerings, and addressing customer needs. Additionally, assisting store cashier team members in cleaning and maintaining the deli, coffee, and fountain bars with fresh offerings throughout the shift.
• Accurately prepare deli products as instructed in designated preparation guides to include salads, fresh-cut fruit, cold/hot sandwiches and wraps, parfait cups, etc.
• Use a variety of methods and technologies to ensure we follow company policies and procedures to maintain proper food safety conditions.
• Additional duties could include cross-training in other departments such as Store Cashier, Restaurant Cashier, Facility Maintenance, and Leadership Roles.
• Ability to move, lift 25+ pounds. Ability to work in various temperatures.
