SUMMARY:
The Fire Kitchen Suppression Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining kitchen fire suppression systems, portable fire extinguishers, emergency lighting systems, and at customer sites. This role involves traveling to client locations to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. The technician will install new fire extinguishers, swap out units due for service, assist in the maintenance of kitchen suppression systems, and complete detailed inspection reports. On-the-job training and factory certification will be provided to prepare for licensing exams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect, test, and service kitchen fire suppression systems and portable fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA standards.
Install new fire extinguishers and replace outdated or non-compliant units.
Inspect and test emergency exit lighting systems at customer locations.
Inspect pre-engineered kitchen fire suppression systems.
Assist in on-site emergency troubleshooting and repairs for kitchen suppression systems.
Schedule appointments with customers for inspections and repairs.
Complete detailed inspection reports and document findings electronically.
Ensure all work complies with applicable safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including company vehicle.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding service needs and recommendations.
Develop and maintain a professional image and build strong relationships with customers.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
MA Certificate of Competency 46 – license for portable fire extinguishers required.
Knowledge of NFPA codes is a plus.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
OSHA 10 card required.
Willingness to learn and complete training for kitchen suppression systems.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
