Job summary

CooperRiis Healing Community in Asheville, NC is seeking a Kitchen Steward to maintain clean dishware, assist with meal service, and support the culinary team on weekends. Shifts run Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9 am to 7 pm, with guaranteed hours and starting pay at $16 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Comfort with handling cleaning chemicals and sanitizers.

Responsibilities

• Washing all service ware, pots and pans and related items.
• Stores and organizes dishes, glassware, silverware and utensils.
• Keeps dish room and all work areas clean and sanitary.
• Keeps dish room floor drains clean and free of debris.
• Empties trash, recycling and compost.
• Performs serving duties as directed by Executive Chef and may assist with meal prep.

Pay

Responsibilities

• Washing all service ware, pots and pans, ect.
• Stores and organizes all dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, and other equipment
• Keeps dish room and all work areas and equipment clean and sanitary
• Keeps dish room floor and floor drains clean
• Empties trash, recycling, and compost
• Performs other cleaning related duties as directed
• Performs serving duties as directed by the Executive Chef
• Performs meal prep duties as directed by the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs

Qualifications

• Experience working in a kitchen environment preferred
• Ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for extend periods of time
• Ability to work with variously chemicals associated with cleaning and sanitizing
