Job summary

Indiana University Dining is seeking a Kitchen Utility Attendant in Bloomington to support residential dining operations. The role combines basic custodial work with ware-washing and dishwashing tasks, helping maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.

You will supervise student and temporary staff as needed, assist with equipment cleaning, waste disposal, and timely setup of dining areas. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with alternating weekends.

Qualifications

• General knowledge at the high school level.
• Food Safety (ServSafe) certification within 180 Days from date of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs general kitchen sanitation duties and guides student and temporary staff in basic ware-washing tasks.
• Cleans and maintains equipment such as floorscrubbers and carpet vacuums.
• Washes windows and interior/exterior surfaces in dining rooms and kitchen areas.
• Separates and removes trash, supports recycling, and cleans garbage cans.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between delivery points and storerooms; loads/unloads supplies.
• Cleans, sanitizes and maintains dishwasher and food preparation equipment.
