Job summary

Rivers Casino in Schenectady, NY is seeking a Steward to maintain clean and sanitary food preparation and storage areas in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The role supports a safe, compliant operation and requires careful attention to sanitation standards and teamwork.

You will perform dishwashing, sanitize work areas and equipment, manage waste and loading dock can wash area, and assist with organizing china, glassware, and utensils. Six months of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months or more related experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up the dishwashing area with racks, chemicals, supplies and carts.
• Scrapes food from dirty dishes.
• Places tableware in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine.
• Washes pots, pans, and other cooking utensils and equipment.
• Sweeps and mops kitchen floors.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and other kitchen or beverage areas as needed.
• Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers.
• Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans.
• Maintains the can wash area on loading dock in sanitary and neat condition.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Organizes china, glassware, silverware, kitchen equipment and utensils and supplies.
• Follows sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Other duties may be assigned.
