Job summary

Castle Hot Springs is seeking a dependable steward to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in our kitchen, handling dishwashing machines, sinks, and related tools in a fast-paced environment.

You will ensure the dishwashing area stays safe and sanitary, handle trash, set up and breakdown the dish area, and assist with general restaurant cleaning. The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and strict adherence to safety and food-handling procedures.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in the English language.
• Ability to stand and/or walk continuously to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to lift at least 50lbs.
• Must comply with all sanitation procedures.
• Other duties as directed.
• Ability to read and comprehend labels on chemicals.
• Willingness to comply with all food safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glassware, tableware and other utensils; place in racks for the dish machine.
• Sort and stack clean dishes; carry to cook’s line and storage areas; rewash soiled dishes before delivering.
• Change dishwater in the dish machine every hour
• Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand
• Remove trash and garbage to the dumpster
• Set up or breakdown the dishwashing area
• Clean and roll/unroll mats
• Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
• Sweep/mop floors
• Assemble/disassemble dish machine
• Conduct general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed
• Notify the manager if wash/rinse temps fall below safety standards

Skills

Proficiency in the English language
