Job summary

The Lantern Columbia, a newly opened independent boutique hotel with a food and beverage operation, is seeking a dedicated Steward to support our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness and sanitizing dishware for use. This role is essential to delivering an exceptional dining experience through efficient dishwashing and kitchen support.

Responsibilities include washing and sanitizing dishes, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, assisting with basic prep, proper waste disposal, and adhering to safety

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dishwashing or kitchen stewardship preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, and sanitize all dishes, cookware, and utensils efficiently and thoroughly.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dishwashing area, and equipment throughout the shift.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic prep work and keep workstations organized.
• Dispose of waste and recyclables properly and maintain sanitation procedures.
• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management promptly.
