Job summary

Bagatelle in New York is hiring a Dishwasher to maintain a clean, organized dish station and support the culinary team. The role requires reliability and teamwork, with on-the-job training provided and no prior experience required.

The position reports to the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and Chef(s) on Duty, with a pay rate of $17 per hour and a dynamic, variable schedule. NYC health standards are emphasized in daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; on-the-job training is provided. Prior dishwashing, stewarding, or kitchen experience is a plus.
• Ability to learn and follow proper dishwashing, sanitation, and chemical-handling procedures.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude and good communication with kitchen leadership.
• NYC DOHMH Food Protection Certificate preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain commercial dishwashing equipment and sanitize all items used in service.
• Keep dish pit and surrounding areas clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout shifts.
• Communicate needs to cooks and chefs; support team during peak periods.
• Assist with basic prep tasks and kitchen support as directed by the Chef on Duty.
• Follow food safety procedures and wear required protective equipment at all times.
