Job summary

Utah Community Action is hiring a Central Kitchen Steward to maintain a clean, safe, and inspection-ready environment supporting nutritious meals for children and families. This full-time role requires a strong work ethic, ability to follow safety guidelines, and reliable attendance.

You will operate kitchen equipment, wash dishes, and assist with food preparation under the Kitchen Manager’s direction. Expect physical activity such as lifting and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• Must have positive attitude and dependable work ethic.
• Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines.
• Good communication in English and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operate, sanitize, and maintain kitchen equipment.
• Wash dishes, cookware, utensils, and vessels.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain clean kitchen, warehouse, and dishwashing areas.
• Dispose of waste and monitor chemical levels.
• Assist with food preparation as directed by Kitchen Manager.
• Store food and supplies, load/unload inventory, report safety concerns.
