Job summary

Hyatt Regency Houston Downtown is seeking a Steward to maintain cleanliness of all hotel china, silverware, and cookware and to support the culinary team in back-of-house operations. The Steward ensures clean, organized kitchens, assists with banquet setup and service, and upholds health and safety standards.

The role involves food running, plate ups, and collaboration with banquet staff. A true customer-service mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting are essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all hotel china, dishware, glassware, and cookware.
• Ensure back of house areas, including kitchens and pantries, are clean and organized.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of banquet service equipment.
• Support banquet operations by maintaining cleanliness and providing necessary items.
• Adhere to health and safety standards and proper chemical handling.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, china, glassware, and equipment.
• Maintain kitchen equipment cleanliness and functioning.
• Assist with food running and plate ups for events.
• Review event orders to ensure preparedness.
