Job summary

Upper Crust Food Service in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Kitchen Steward to support the culinary team by maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen and dining area, and by stocking supplies. You will follow safety standards and operate a commercial dishwasher, assisting with food prep as needed to ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

Previous kitchen dishwasher experience is preferred, and a background check plus a valid food safety handler certificate may be required within 30 days

Qualifications

• Experience in restaurant dishwashing is preferred.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Valid food safety handler and sanitation certification or obtain one within 30 days of employment.
• High school or vocational coursework in kitchen basics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining area.
• Wash kitchen utensils, equipment and dishes using a dishwasher or by hand.
• Put away clean dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans.
• Stock supplies in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
• Sweep and wash floors.
• Sort and remove trash to designated pickup areas.
• Assist with food preparation duties as directed by Head/Sous Chef.
• Assist in unloading and putting away deliveries.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers.
• Communicate regularly with management via calls, emails, and texts.
