Job summary

Cascade Hotel Kansas City, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio Hotel, is seeking a Restaurant Steward to join our culinary team. You will help maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen, wash dishes, support banquet and restaurant services, and assist with light prep and stocking as needed.

We value teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail. The role requires flexibility for mornings, evenings, and special events, with opportunities to grow within a renowned hotel brand.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwashing, stewarding, janitorial, or food service experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, flatware, cookware, and kitchen utensils.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen, dish room, storage areas, service stations, and other back-of-house spaces.
• Assist with light food preparation tasks as directed by culinary leadership.
• Remove trash, cardboard, and recycling while following proper disposal procedures.
• Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors and work areas throughout each shift.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment in accordance with established sanitation standards.
• Restock cleaning supplies, chemicals, and kitchen service items as needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation and workplace safety procedures, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Support the Culinary and Food & Beverage teams to ensure efficient daily operations and successful banquet and restaurant service.
• Assist with banquet setup, breakdown, and special event support as business needs require.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
