Job summary

Mauna Kea Resort in Waimea, Hawaii, is seeking a Steward to perform general cleaning, transfer china, glassware, and silverware to banquet areas, and assist the culinary department in transporting food and supplies to function areas, and to set up and break down buffet lines.

Duties include operating dishwashing equipment, cleaning floors and equipment, handling waste, setting up chafers, loading and transporting items, maintaining cleanliness, and following safety policies.

Qualifications

• General cleaning and unskilled tasks.
• Ability to transfer food, china, glassware, silverware to banquet areas.
• Ability to assist culinary department with moving food and supplies.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing equipment and store china, silverware, glassware.
• Clean floors, walls, counters, mats, grills and kitchen equipment.
• Remove and discard garbage from kitchens.
• Set up and break down buffet lines and chafers.
• Load and transport food, equipment and supplies to function area.
• Handle breakdown stations and organize dishes for washing.
• Wash pots, pans and kitchen utensils.
• Clean spills in kitchen, function area or dining rooms.
• Report equipment in need of repair.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
