Functions Of The Job
Essential Functions Production
- Assist with set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at the required temperature. Stock milk coolers for service.
- Assist in food preparation according to the menu plan and Opaa! recipes. Plan and prepare ahead for the next day’s menus.
- Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other equipment with proper certification.
- Maintain neat, clean, and organized work areas.
- Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, including equipment and dishes.
- Organize inventory stock and practice FIFO procedures. Keep coolers/storage racks clean and debris-free.
- Clean and monitor chemical usage, maintain dishwashing equipment, and store cleaned dishes properly.
- Requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager.
- Prepare baked goods such as bread, cakes, and cookies, and present them appealingly to customers.
- Batch cook to ensure quality and presentation.
- Set up serving/bar lines, ensure proper food temperatures, and restock as needed.
- Serve food with proper sizes and utensils, maintaining quality presentation and hospitality.
- Keep serving lines and condiments stocked with necessary items.
Compliance
- Prepare foods in strict accordance with the menu and recipes.
- Follow standardized recipes for consistency.
- Recognize reimbursable meals and adhere to Meal Pattern regulations.
- Maintain accurate daily production records.
- Follow HACCP procedures and keep food safety logs, recording temperatures.
- Obey safety rules, report unsafe conditions, and participate in safety programs.
- Participate in the “Daily Dish”.
- Attend meetings and complete annual training hours per HHFKA.
- Demonstrate Opaa!’s Core Values and maintain compliance with company policies.
Administrative
- Handle customer monies accurately, operate POS systems, and ensure only reimbursable meals are processed.
- Complete paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliation daily.
- Record work hours via ADP or submission sheets.
- Notify supervisors 24 hours in advance of shift absences, or as soon as possible in emergencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical/Visual Activities or Demands
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, squat, climb, balance, kneel, crawl, push, pull, grasp, feel, taste, smell, talk, hear, and reach.
- Must exert over 60 pounds occasionally and lift/carry up to 25 pounds frequently.
- Visual abilities include attention, depth perception, sharp focus, and color vision.
Position Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred; or up to one month of related experience, training, or equivalent.
Language Skills
Ability to read and understand instructions, write simple correspondence, and communicate effectively in small groups.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform basic math operations and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems involving standard variables.

Includes dishwasher, steamer, mixer, oven, stove, fryers, slicer, thermometers, gauges, knives, software, PCs, calculator, phone, fax, scanner, copier, and printer.
