Position Summary

Able to perform the essential functions of kitchen staff positions on an as-needed basis.

Functions Of The Job

Essential Functions Production

  • Assist with set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at the required temperature. Stock milk coolers and prepare for service.
  • Assist in food preparation according to the menu plan and Opaa! recipes. Plan and prep for the next day's menus.
  • Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other equipment with proper certification.
  • Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized.
  • Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, including equipment and dishes.
  • Maintain inventory stock organized and practice FIFO procedures. Keep cooler/storage racks clean.
  • Clean, monitor chemical usage, and maintain dishwashing equipment. Store clean dishes properly.
  • Requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager.
  • Prepare baked goods as required and present them appealingly.
  • Batch cook to ensure quality and presentation.
  • Set up serving/bar lines, ensure proper food temperatures, and restock as needed.
  • Serve items with proper sizes and utensils, ensuring quality presentation and hospitality.
  • Keep serving lines and condiments supplied with necessary items.

Compliance

  • Prepare foods per menu and recipes.
  • Follow standardized recipes for consistency.
  • Recognize reimbursable meals and follow meal pattern regulations.
  • Maintain accurate daily production records.
  • Follow HACCP procedures and record temperatures.
  • Obey safety rules, report unsafe conditions, and participate in safety programs.
  • Attend meetings and training as required.
  • Promote Opaa!’s Core Values.
  • Maintain compliance with timekeeping policies.

Administrative

  • Handle customer monies and operate POS system.
  • Complete paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliation.
  • Log hours worked accurately.
  • Notify supervisors in advance of absences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and other physical activities.
  • Occasional exertion of over 60 pounds, and frequently lift/move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Visual abilities include attention, depth perception, and color vision.

Position Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred; or up to one month related experience or training.

Language Skills

Ability to read, write, and present information effectively.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic math operations and interpret data.

Reasoning Ability

Apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems.
