Job summary

DeKalb Health is seeking a kitchen utility worker to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and surrounding areas. You will follow a cleaning schedule, use proper chemicals per manufacturer guidelines, and keep floors, walls, equipment, and surfaces in top condition.

Responsibilities include cleaning all cooking devices, assisting dishwashers, segregating trash, and ensuring health department standards are met. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and pass a pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• Prior heavy cleaning or kitchen worker experience preferred.
• Ability to operate floor cleaning equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper labeling.
• Knowledge of safety standards and industrial kitchen equipment use and care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and back-of-house areas.
• Follow cleaning schedule and use manufacturer guidelines for chemicals.
• Clean equipment, floors, drains, walls, tables, sinks and ceilings.
• Assist dishwashers with daily duties and maintain safe work environment.
• Report repairs needed to kitchen management.
• Prepare for shift by cleaning and organizing chemical storeroom and stewarding area.
