Job summary

MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas is seeking a Kitchen Runner to deliver prompt, friendly service and describe menu items with confidence. You’ll be at the heart of the guest dining experience—expediting dishes from kitchen and ensuring accuracy of table service in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate is 21 years or older with at least 6 months of experience in a high-volume dining environment as a Food Runner or Server, and can work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.

• Minimum 6 months of relevant experience in a high-volume dining restaurant as a Food Runner or Server.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner and ensure a welcoming dining atmosphere.
• Expedite food from the kitchen to the table according to service sequence and Chef guidance.
• Describe dishes and menu features to guests when served.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the station and service area.
• Communicate guest needs to kitchen and management and report feedback.

THE STARTING RATE:

$22 22 Hourly

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Greet guest in a positive, friendly manner, making them feel welcome.
• Expedite food from the kitchen to the table as dictated by sequence of service and by the Chef or kitchen expediter.
• Describe food upon placement on the table, answering questions pertaining to the dishes.
• Describe menu features as needed (include changes and additions).
• Communicate with expediter to ensure delivery of food to the correct table and position.
• Perform assigned open and closing side-work.
• Communicate needs of the guest to kitchen and management, inform management of guest reaction and comments and assist management to ensure smooth operation and quality service.
• Check dining area, tables and chairs for cleanliness, maintain cleanliness and organization of station and service area.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• 21 years of age or older
• 6+ months of prior relevant experience in a high-volume dining restaurant as a Food Runner or Server preferred
• Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
