Job summary

Co-op is seeking a Kitchen Production Specialist to prepare foods per recipes, meet sales and shrink targets, and ensure timely cooking and cooling to hit delivery deadlines.

You will follow food safety guidelines, maintain clean workspaces, monitor stock levels, and support training and packaging as needed. Flexible daytime hours and community-focused team environment are part of this role.

Qualifications

  • Kitchen or restaurant experience preferred.
  • Must be 18+ years old with a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Produce all food items following established recipes and meet quality standards.
  • Develop and participate in new production recipes.
  • Follow systems to promote efficient operation of the department.
  • Adhere to strict food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions and clean assigned areas.
  • Manage in-stock levels and assist with ingredient ordering as needed.
  • Mentor new staff and assist in training.

If you’re passionate about community and making a difference, we’d love to work with you.Position Overview:The Kitchen Production Specialist is responsible for the production of prepared foods based on product levels intended to meet sales and shrink targets. Timeliness of execution in preparing, cooking and cooling of product in order to meet delivery deadlines is crucial to this role.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Production of all food items following established recipes, accurately and efficiently, ensuring a quality productParticipate in the development of new production recipesFollow systems in place to promote efficient operation of departmentAdhere to strict food safety regulationsClean assigned areas to maintain safe and sanitary conditionsCleans shelves, bins, tables, coolers and floor on a regularly scheduled basisWash hands frequently and use flexible gloves when handling all foodsMaintain appropriate in-stock levels without excessive back stockMay re-order supplies and ingredients from a variety of suppliers, including local growers and producers, based on inventory requirements and/or coverage needsPossess an extensive knowledge of products, vendors, and cooking in accordance with Co-op standardsIs able to maintain operations of the department in the absence of the Production ManagerMay direct the work of others as neededClearly and effectively communicates needs and/or concerns to the Production ManagerServe as a mentor to new staff in the department. Re-train staff as needed or requested, following set training programAct as a backup to the Packaging team if/when the need arisesAdhere to all Co-op policies and procedures including the Employee Code of ConductParticipate in department meetings and complete all required trainings for the purpose of maintaining Co-op standardsAll other duties as assignedRequired Skills/Experience and Attributes:High school graduate or equivalentKitchen or Restaurant experience strongly preferredMust be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportationStrong attention to detailExcellent follow throughWilling to hold self and others accountableQuality Standards:Preparation:Prepares recipes in allotted time. Finishes production list and cleaning schedule for scheduled shift.Cleanliness:Follows cleaning schedule for all Kitchen equipment. Follows Co-op Food Safety guidelines as established by the Food Safety Advisory Team. Maintains food safety training certifications.Completes any and all documentation required by state and federal regulations.Physical Demands:Lifting up to 60 lbs. comfortably on a regular basis. Walking, standing for long periods, sitting, keyboarding, reaching, bending, and carrying.Attendance Requirements:Monday through Friday daytime hours with flexibility to shift hours to meet production demands.
