Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is seeking a part-time kitchen helper to assist the Kitchen Manager in preparing daily meals for youth program sites in Sussex and Kent counties. You will prep hot and cold foods, package meals, and assist with deliveries, following USDA and state nutrition guidelines.
Responsibilities include cleaning, food handling, portioning, labeling, and maintaining sanitation standards.

Each and everyday girls and boys are left to find their own recreation and companionship. An increasing number of kids are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know they have a place in their community where they can go. Clubs provide a safe haven for youth, allow them to meet with friends and be a part of positive peer groups. Club programs teach life skills, conflict resolution and focus on the development of character. Clubs also provide members with positive role models and a nurturing environment that help improve decision-making skills.
This position requires performance of a variety of food preparationduties other than cooking, suchas prepping hot and cold foods for packaging of meal componentsand occasional delivery of meals to program sites when necessary. This position will be responsible forsupportingthe Kitchen Managerand Assistant Kitchen Manager ina kitchen operation that prepares daily meals to be delivered to youth program sites in Sussex and Kent counties. The meals will be preparedunder the nutritional guidelines specified in the USDA and State of Delaware youth food service programs. This job requires strict compliance with food safety and overallsanitary guidelines as directedin federal and state regulations as well as those set forth by the Kitchen Manager and Assistant Kitchen Manager.
Work Hours:7a.m. – 1:00p.m. Monday through Friday (Hours mayvary according to the production needs of the kitchen.Occasional evening or weekends may be required).
- Part-time employees who meet the following criteria are eligible for benefits per Affordable Care Act (ACA) Guidelines:
1 (one) year of service averaging 30 hours per week.
1 (one) year of service averaging 25 hours per week.
