Qualifications

• Understanding of health, safety and sanitation procedures.
• Knowledge of weights, measures and cooking techniques.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Cooperative attitude for multitasking in a busy kitchen.
• Awareness of food production equipment including choppers, slicers, mixers and grinders.
• Ability to read and understand recipes and related documentation.

Responsibilities

• Meet with Sous Chef to review assignments and daily changes.
• Set up station, prep MIS en place, inspect tools, schedule production.
• Process requisitions and place in designated area.
• Suggest using excess items for daily specials or other use.
• Communicate needed assistance during busy periods to the Sous Chef.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of work areas.
• Disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and worktables.
• Breakdown station, rotate stock, label items, and store properly.
• Restock depleted items during the shift.
• Follow departmental policies and standards.
• Perform other related duties as necessary.
