Soho House in New York is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support hygiene, safety and cleanliness in the kitchen and back-of-house areas. You will wash and sanitise cookware, operate dishwashing equipment, and maintain organised spaces while following HACCP and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Reliability, discretion, and a professional attitude.
• Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to handle feedback to achieve member satisfaction.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware.
• Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment in line with safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and storage areas.
• Dispose of kitchen waste and keep bins empty and areas tidy throughout the shift.
• Follow Food Safety and Health & Safety policies in line with UK regulations (HACCP).
• Follow detailed cleaning schedules and SOPs.
• Support kitchen team by replenishing stock and reporting low supplies.
• Handle kitchen equipment carefully to minimise breakages and maintain inventory.
• Replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials.
• Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
