Job summary

God's Love We Deliver is seeking a Kitchen Porter to uphold the highest kitchen cleanliness standards in accordance with New York State Department of Health guidelines. The role includes supervising interns and volunteers on cleaning projects and supporting the receiving process when needed.

The Kitchen Porter will ensure sanitation across surfaces, floors, and utensils, manage trash removal, and maintain orderly storage of linen, paper supplies, and deliveries in a fast-paced kitchen supporting

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, and utensils in accordance with New York State Department of Health standards.
• Remove trash and recycling from the kitchen and office areas.
• Degrease and scrub ovens and other major kitchen equipment.
• Receive and store linen and paper supply orders, maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, and ensure the utility room remains clean and organized.
• Supervise interns and volunteers during routine cleaning and special projects.
• Receive and store deliveries in the appropriate areas when the Receiving Clerk is absent.

God’s Love We Deliver, a nonsectarian organization, is the New York metropolitan area’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, God’s Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God’s Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a client’s severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitians, and all clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. God’s Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of our clients. All of our services are provided at no cost to our clients.

About the Role

The Kitchen Porter maintains the highest standards of cleanliness in the kitchen, using NYS Department of Health Standards, and supervises interns and volunteers for cleaning projects.
