Job summary

God's Love We Deliver is seeking a dedicated CDL driver to safely transport meals from our SoHo kitchen to clients across the NYC area, including Sunset Park. You will interact with clients and staff, ensuring on-time deliveries while upholding the organization’s compassionate service standards.

Responsibilities include vehicle safety checks, accurate loading and routing, and using company devices for navigation.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State CDL license required.
• Driving record must meet company insurance requirements (no DUI/DWI, reckless driving, suspensions).
• Previous commercial driving, delivery, transportation, or logistics experience preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and compassionate client service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and inspect assigned delivery vehicles.
• Load and deliver meals accurately and on time along routes.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining client confidentiality.
• Use routing technology and company devices to navigate routes.
• Communicate delays or issues to management.
• Follow food and vehicle safety policies.
• Support and guide volunteer Van Assistants as needed.

God's Love We Deliver, a nonsectarian organization, is the New York metropolitan area's leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, God's Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God's Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a client's severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitians, and all clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. God's Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of our clients. All of our services are provided at no cost to our clients.

About the Role:

Our CDL Drivers safely and efficiently deliver meals while serving as ambassadors of God's Love We Deliver for our clients and communities. Drivers typically complete up to 60 delivery stops per day and/or routine transport of our meals between our commercial kitchen in SoHo and Sunset Park Brooklyn. They interact directly with clients and cross-team colleagues in a professional, compassionate, and respectful manner.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate and inspect assigned delivery vehicles.
• Load and deliver meals accurately and efficiently along assigned routes.
• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining client confidentiality.
• Use routing technology and company-issued devices to navigate delivery routes.
• Communicate delays, vehicle concerns, or route issues to management.
• Follow all food safety, vehicle safety, and organizational policies.
• Support and provide guidance to volunteer Van Assistants as needed.

About You:

• Valid New York State Commercial Driver's License (CDL) New York State Driver's License required.
• Must maintain a driving record that satisfies God's Love vehicle insurance and motor vehicle record eligibility (e.g. no: DUI/DWI, reckless driving, license suspensions, or excessive moving violations).
• Previous commercial driving, delivery, transportation, or logistics experience preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, compassionate client service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage routes efficiently, and meet delivery schedules.
• Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 70 lbs.
• Comfortable working in all weather environments (e.g. cold and hot)
