Job summary

McMenamins Rock Creek Tavern in Hillsboro, OR is hiring a Kitchen Assistant–Assistant Manager (KAAM) for full-time on-site work. The KAAM will assist in all kitchen operations, cover opening/closing duties, and help run a smooth shift with strong customer service.

The role may involve outdoor work seasonally and requires leadership and multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing labor and food costs, and training team members while maintaining

Qualifications

• Current food handler card required.
• Experience in high‑volume cooking is required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a busy, customer‑service oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all kitchen operations under the Chef/Manager guidance.
• Handle opening and closing duties of the kitchen and supervise shift flow.
• Support host duties and ensure smooth service throughout the shift.
• Work indoors or outdoors as needed and manage labor and food costs.
• Train staff and report issues to the head manager and district manager.
