The Kitchen Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth daily operations of the designated location. This is a full-time position (generally 8 hours daily, Monday-Friday).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Complete other duties or administrative requests as assigned by SLA leadership.
  • Ensure resources are available from staffing and supply perspectives.
  • Implement functions such as food quality, production, planning, purchasing, and facility maintenance.
  • Collaborate with leaders to follow in-unit marketing strategies.
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Uphold ServSafe standards, child nutrition regulations, and relevant laws.
  • Ensure proper techniques for cleanliness and food preparation.
  • Submit orders for food, supplies, and office needs.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Track attendance and monitor staff schedules and policies.
  • Plan, oversee, and participate in food preparation and service.
  • Manage payment processing and cash deposits.
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Knowledge And Skills
  • CACFP Manager certification.
  • Experience in early childhood food service and reporting requirements.
  • At least 2 years of high-volume school food service experience.
  • Knowledge of NSLP/NSBP programs.
  • Strong work ethic and team orientation.
  • Effective communication skills across management levels.
  • Organizational and multitasking skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred food service experience.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Customer-focused and enjoys working with children.
