Job summary

The Whistling Kettle is seeking a Kitchen Manager to assist the owners and general manager with day-to-day restaurant operations and uphold our high standards of guest experience.

You will supervise hourly back-of-house staff—line and prep cooks, and dishwashers—while coaching, scheduling, and enforcing safety, sanitation, and quality. Some travel to other locations may be required, and you’ll work closely with leadership to drive consistency and growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in restaurant/hospitality leadership is required.
• Ability to coach and document performance.
• Ability to read POS screens and basic office tools.
• Ability to manage schedules and paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Supervise back-of-house staff including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.
• Provide orientation, training, and ongoing coaching.
• Create weekly schedules to meet business demands.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Communicate with owners and management to share critical information.
• Open and close kitchen duties and ensure smooth shift transitions.
