Job summary

Universal Health Services in Wisconsin is seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead the Food Service Department, ensuring nutritious meals for patients and staff while maintaining a sanitary, organized environment.

You will supervise and schedule the food service team, monitor inventories and purchasing, and ensure proper food storage. Experience in healthcare food service and supervisory roles is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Supervisory experience and 1-2 years of food service experience in a healthcare facility preferred.
• Licensure: Certified Food Service Operator, CDM or CFPP preferred.
• Working knowledge: Food prep, menus, equipment, safety and infection control; strong communication.
• Physical requirements: Able to stand, lift 50 lbs+, and handle equipment regularly.

Position Summary: The Kitchen Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all activities of the Food Service Department which includes providing nutritional and attractive meals for patients and facility employees, maintaining an organized and sanitary environment, monitoring supply inventories and purchasing of food and supplies as required, ensuring proper storage of food and supplies and managing an effective food service staff.

Qualifications

Kitchen Manager Job Requirements:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Supervisory experience and 1-2 years of food service experience in a healthcare facility preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Certified Food Service Operator Certificate, Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP) prefered.
• Working Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of food preparation utilizing menus, kitchen equipment and kitchen cleaning methods/products, safety and infection control practices. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff. Demonstrates proficient time management skills.
• Essential Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion, including bending, handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Able to lift and carry equipment and supplies of 50 lbs or more.
