Qualifications

Love early mornings, planning meals and feeding awesome humans? We’re looking for a Kitchen Lead to run the heartbeat of our in-office perks: breakfast and lunch served fresh for our fantastic team.

As the Kitchen Lead, you’ll oversee all aspects of TFL’s kitchen operations—from menu planning and food prep to inventory, purchasing, and cleanliness. You’ll lead a small but mighty team, set a warm tone in the kitchen, and ensure every meal leaves our team smiling and fueled for the day.


Hours are 6 a.m.–3 p.m., Monday–Friday with an occasional evening event.

Reports to: Executive Administrative Assistant

Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

  • Develop nutritious, appealing menus for daily breakfast and lunch
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, order necessary supplies and ensure all deliveries are properly received and stored
  • Communicate and coordinate with food and supply vendors to ensure timely deliveries, resolve issues and maintain positive working relationships
  • Prepare ingredients in advance to ensure efficient meal production
  • Execute timely and consistent food preparation and service
  • Implement strategies to minimize food and supply waste
  • Clean all dishes, work stations, cooking equipment and food storage areas in accordance with food safety regulations
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen areas
  • Keep kitchen floors clean and safe to prevent accidents and maintain a sanitary environment
  • Empty and clean trash receptacles and properly dispose of waste on a routine schedule

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is a seasoned culinary expert
  • Thrives in the kitchen—and doesn’t mind the early mornings
  • Has solid kitchen management experience and a head for logistics
  • Leads by example and creates a warm, productive team environment
  • Brings energy, creativity and a passion for feeding people well

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in Kitchen management, food prep, menu planning and inventory
  • Prior experience in a management position running a commercial kitchen/restaurant
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety procedures and adherence to all Kansas Food Code and other regulations through USDA, FDA and the State Health Department
  • ServSafe certification or the equivalent
  • Excellent organizational, time management and multitasking abilities
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
