CENTURY FIRE PROTECTION-ASA LLC is hiring a technician to inspect, test, and service commercial kitchen hood fire suppression systems. You will perform installations, repairs, and upgrades, identify deficiencies, and communicate findings to customers and internal teams.

The role requires knowledge of NFPA 17A and related codes, with common on-call duties and safety responsibilities in varied environments. High school diploma and 2–5 years’ experience in hood suppression or related fire

Qualifications

• High school diploma; 2–5 years servicing kitchen hood suppression systems preferred.
• Permits for pre-engineered kitchen hood suppression and portable fire extinguisher preferred.
• Manufacturer certifications (Ansul, Pyro-Chem, Kidde) preferred; NFPA 17A knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, service, and maintain kitchen hood suppression systems per NFPA 17A and codes.
• Perform system installations, repairs, and upgrades as needed.
• Identify deficiencies, recommend corrective actions, and report findings.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and deficiency notices.
• Coordinate with customers, fire marshals, and scheduling teams for service delivery.
• Maintain service vehicles, tools, and inventory; follow safety procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotations and occasional overtime as required.

SummaryResponsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen hood fire suppression systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards; works independently and as part of a service team to support customer safety, regulatory compliance, and company service commitments.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Inspect, test, service, and maintain kitchen hood fire suppression systems in accordance with NFPA 17A, manufacturer requirements, and local fire codes.Perform system installations, repairs, and upgrades as needed.Identify deficiencies, recommend corrective actions, and communicate findings to customers and internal teams.Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and deficiency notices accurately and timely.Coordinate with customers, fire marshals, and internal scheduling teams to ensure successful service delivery.Maintain service vehicles, tools, and inventory in accordance with company standards.Follow all safety procedures, including use of PPE and safe work practices.Participate in on-call rotations or after-hours service as required.Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma and 2-5 years’ experience servicing kitchen hood suppression systems or related fire protection systems preferred; Pre-engineered Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems Permit and Portable Fire Extinguisher Permit preferred; manufacturer certifications (e.g., Ansul, Pyro-Chem, Kidde) preferred; knowledge of NFPA 17A and applicable local codes preferred.Computer SkillsMicrosoft Office applications; ability to use mobile service software, smartphones, and basic computer applications and email.Physical DemandsFrequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces; ability to work at heights and in occupied buildings; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; field-based role at commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties; exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and electrical environments; On-call rotation and occasional overtime may be required.ASA Fire Protection is part of the successful Century Fire Protection full-service fire protection company based in the Southeast.
