Falmouth Hospital Association in Massachusetts is seeking a patient meal service assistant to set up and deliver trays, assist in food prep, and maintain kitchen cleanliness. This role supports CARES values by delivering courteous service to patients, families, and staff.

Your responsibilities include assembling cold foods, delivering trays, stocking pantries, cleaning equipment, and helping with daily production for all dietary needs. The position offers a rotating schedule and hourly pay range.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble cold food items per census and hospital specs.
  • Set up patient trays according to menus and diet instructions; assist with delivery.
  • Supply floor pantries and maintain cleanliness of pantries and refrigerators.
  • Assist in dish room with dishwashing and storage of clean items.
  • Take inventory of fruit and vegetables twice weekly.
  • Make coffee for hospital meetings; set up functions as needed.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen, walk-in, storeroom floors daily.
  • Wash pots and utensils; assist with vegetable prep.
  • Complete production for dietary needs.
  • Wear facility ID badge.

Purpose of Position

Sets out, serves, and delivers patient meals; assists in clean up of the kitchen facilities.

Description
  • Must be courteous to patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers, and other employees of the organization.
  • Under the general supervision of the Dietary Manager, and or designee and within hospital and departmental policies and procedures is responsible for the following duties:
  • Prepare and assemble cold food items in accordance with census and hospital specifications
  • Set up patient trays according to menus and diet instructions; assist with delivery of trays when needed and return trays to dietary after meals.
  • Supply floor pantries with needed listed food items. Clean pantries and clean and defrost refrigerators as assigned. Make and deliver requested between-meal nourishments.
  • Assist in dish room with de-traying, dishwashing, and storage of clean dish items.
  • Take fruit and vegetable inventory twice weekly, as assigned.
  • Make coffee for Hospital meetings. Sets up hospital functions under supervision of the Food Service Manager or designee.
  • Sweep and mop Kitchen, walk in, and storeroom floors daily.
  • Other general cleaning as assigned.
  • Wash pots, pans and utensils, and help with vegetable prep.
  • Completes production for all dietary needs.
  • Must wear facility provided identification badge.

Schedule Details: 64PP (32 Hours Per Week), Rotating Days, 7:15a-3:15p, Every Other Weekend & Rotating Holidays
