Job summary

Cornell College is seeking a full-time Kitchen Technician to maintain and repair food service equipment and building systems on campus. The role requires troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and collaboration with the Facilities Management team to ensure safe, reliable operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience with CMMS/BAS, EPA refrigeration certification, and a valid Iowa driver’s license, with a strong focus on safety and efficient problem solving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 5 years of maintenance experience in food service equipment.
• Experience with testing, calibration, and general fixtures is required.
• EPA refrigeration certification required and valid Iowa driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on food service equipment and building systems.
• Maintain and repair electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing and related fixtures.
• Operate CMMS to track work orders and maintenance history.
• Assist with renovations/remodeling projects and manage parts inventory and budgets.
