Gourmet Dining & Chartwells Higher Education in Scranton, PA is hiring a Kitchen Chef Supervisor for a full-time role. The position requires supervisory and culinary experience, with pay ranging from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. Schedule varies and some weekends are required; on-call summer work may be possible.

Location is at Marywood University. The role includes training and opportunities for career growth within the Gourmet Dining & Chartwells network across 270 campuses.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HACCP guidelines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the cooking activities of food service associates as assigned.
• Prepare various entrees and menu items following established recipes.
• Operate and clean equipment after each use; perform scheduled routine cleaning.
• Store, label and date food items according to policy; maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated/frozen products.
• Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
• Assist Food Service Director in maintaining accurate daily production records and completing required documentation.

Job Summary

Summary: Prepares food to ensure it is nutritious and properly flavored in accordance with applicable federal, state, local and company standards, guidelines and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• May oversee the cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by Food Service Director.
• Prepares various entrees and menu items following established recipes.

• Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
• Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Assists Food Service Director in maintaining accurate daily production records and completes all required documentation, reports, and logs as assigned.
• Assists in the cross training of employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
