Job summary

NetCost Market in Staten Island, NY is seeking a Dishwasher to support our service department and daily kitchen operations. This role involves cleaning dishes, operating the industrial dishwasher, and maintaining sanitation standards to provide customers with a clean, efficient experience.

Shifts run from 8 AM to 4 PM, including weekends and holidays, with up to 38 hours per week. The ideal candidate is polite, prompt, and able to meet physical demands while contributing to a positive shopping

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and math skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to comprehend and follow all company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
• A courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests, questions, and complaints

Responsibilities

• Operate the industrial dishwasher
• Wash glassware and other implements by hand when necessary
• Empty and clean all trash receptacles
• Clean iced tea, coffee and milkshake machines daily
• Rotate dishes to reduce wear and tear on resources
• Follow sanitation policies at all times
• Provide assistance to prep cook and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times
• Perform opening, closing and side work
• Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately
• Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to appropriate part
