Job summary

TEMPO Employment Services is seeking an experienced Kitchen Associate to join a busy local restaurant in Presque Isle. You will prepare and cook menu items, assist with food prep, and keep a clean, sanitary kitchen to support daily restaurant operations.

Shifts run 8:00 AM–2:00 PM and 4:00 PM–9:00 PM, with flexibility to mix, and ServSafe training qualifies for the higher starting pay. This is an Opportunity-to-Hire role for a reliable, team-oriented kitchen professional.

Qualifications

• Must have previous professional cooking experience.
• ServSafe training preferred and may qualify for higher starting pay.
• Must be 18 years or older and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Reliable with good attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and procedures.
• Assist with food preparation and ingredient prep for service.
• Cook safely and consistently during busy periods.
• Monitor food quality, portions, and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen area.
• Follow food handling, storage, and safety procedures.
• Stock and rotate kitchen supplies as needed.
• Communicate and collaborate with kitchen and restaurant staff.
• Complete opening and closing duties and follow safety rules.
• Perform other kitchen tasks to support daily operations.

TEMPO Employment Services is seeking an experienced Kitchen Associate to join the team at a busy local restaurant in Presque Isle.

This is an Opportunity-to-Hire position for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and has previous professional cooking experience. The Kitchen Associate will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items, assisting with food prep, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen, and supporting the overall flow of restaurant operations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and procedures
• Assist with food preparation, including preparing ingredients for service
• Cook food safely and consistently during busy meal periods
• Monitor food quality, portioning, and presentation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and cooking area
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and food safety procedures
• Assist with stocking and rotating food and kitchen supplies
• Communicate and work cooperatively with kitchen and restaurant staff
• Complete cleaning, opening, and closing duties as assigned
• Follow all workplace safety and sanitation requirements
• Perform other kitchen duties as needed to support daily restaurant operations

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience cooking in a professional kitchen required
• ServSafe training/certification preferred and qualifies for the higher starting pay rate
• Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced restaurant environment
• Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work both daytime and evening shifts is helpful
• Ability to stand for extended periods and meet the physical demands of kitchen work
