Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for Parker Performing Arts School. The role supports daily lunch program operations in charter schools with limited equipment, handling setup, service, sales, and strict adherence to health and safety regulations.

You will follow menus and recipes, assist with training, and ensure accurate cash handling at the POS. This 0.75 FTE position offers benefits and growth within the district's food services team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience in food service is a plus.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand/walk frequently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up and cleaning serving areas for timely student service.
• Assist in preparation, service and sale of meals ensuring compliance with department regulations.
• Independently follows menu and recipe instructions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Operate Point of Sale system with accuracy and reconcile monies daily.
• Participate in PGI Classes and trainings; may lead trainings for kitchen staff.
• Serve meals daily while complying with school food regulations and sanitation standards.
• Pursue regulatory changes and suggest sustainable solutions.
• Build positive relationships with the surrounding community.
