Job summary

Enstrom Candies, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Kitchen Assistant to support our candy production during peak periods. You will focus on the later stages of production, including packaging and labeling finished products to spec.

Responsibilities include monitoring daily production, managing time to hit schedules, operating enrobers, melters, roasters and sealers, and assisting in shipping as needed while upholding GMPs and HACCP guidelines.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Seasonal Kitchen Assistant plays a vital role in producing the different types of candy, concentrating on the latter stages of the candy production process to include packaging.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Daily monitoring of production schedule and performance of assigned tasks in an excellent manner.


2. Daily manage time and tasks to the best of your ability so that all assigned tasks are completed on schedule as scheduled by the Production Manager.


3. Proficiency with departmental equipment, such as enrober, melters, roaster and sealer.


4. Interaction with coworkers for smooth departmental functioning


5. Preparation and clean up of work area


6. Packaging of finished product according to specifications


7. Proper labeling of finished product and storage guidelines


8. Ability to accept instructions well


9. Assist in other production departments as requested


10. Assist in shipping department as directed and be able to utilize shipping equipment (tape, labels, and scanner).


11. Shared responsibility and participation in GMPs


12. Shared responsibility of maintaining HACCP compliance


13. Assist other departments as needed

Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Skill and Ability: follow directions and safety procedures; maintain quality standards at all times, even while doing repetitious work; work well within a team environment; perform multiple tasks at the same time; familiarity with chemistry of candy, chocolate, humidity and temperature; fluency in written and spoke English


2. Tools, Equipment or Machinery Used: spoon, spatula, chocolate melter, scale, scraper, table top melter, enrober, cutters, double boiler, roaster, sealer, heat gun, knife


3. Minimum Physical Requirements: stand for up to 7 hours per shift, lift up to 35 lbs; bend, stoop, climb, kneel, see, hear; handle or feel objects and tools; grasp, turn, raise arms above shoulder height


4. Personal Qualities: quantity and accuracy; cooperation, reliability, attendance and punctuality; initiative, alertness and judgment


5. Risk of Assault or Injury: moderate; must follow proper safety procedures
