Job summary

Phoenix House is hiring a Kitchen Assistant in Long Island City, NY, to support the cook in providing three meals daily for patients. You will assist with prep work, handle deliveries, stock rotation, and maintain cleanliness in a busy kitchen.

Qualifications

• NYS Serv Safe certificate required.
• Previous restaurant experience preferred.
• On-the-job training in knife use and safe food handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receives deliveries and stores food in refrigerators and freezers.
• Rotates stock and maintains freshness.
• Cleans kitchen areas and removes garbage.
• Assists in meal preparation and ingredient prep for campus cooks.
• Supports cleaning and organization of the kitchen.
