Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Indianapolis is hiring a Kitchen Assistant for the morning shift (6am - 2:30pm) and the mid shift (10am - 6pm). The role supports the head chef in food preparation, cleanliness, stocking, and safe kitchen operations within a detox and residential rehab setting.

Ideal candidates have relevant kitchen experience or training, maintain sobriety if in recovery, and demonstrate strong time management, multitasking, and teamwork to ensure efficient meal service and adherence

Qualifications

Any relevant experience or training necessary to serve as professional chef.
Minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety if in recovery.
Strong time management and multitasking skills.
Ability to collaborate and work efficiently.
Comprehensive understanding of health and sanitation laws.

Responsibilities

Support head chef in all aspects of food preparation (cooking, cleaning, stocking etc.).
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and function through consistent washing and tidying.
Keep kitchen organized and stocked by replenishing all supplies when running low.
Follow all food storage policies, labeling protocol, and food safety regulations.
Collaborate with BHT team for efficient meal preparation, service, and cleanup.
