Job summary

Auburn School Department Nutrition Program - Auburn, Maine is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the central kitchen and satellite schools. The role is part-time, paying $19.06 per hour for about 2.5 hours daily at East Auburn Community School.

Starting immediately, you will assist with meal prep, service, sanitation, and basic cashier duties under the Kitchen Manager. Experience is preferred, and fingerprinting is required by Maine CHRC.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to HAACP and clean/sanitize per protocol.
• Coordinate with staff to check in and store orders safely and accurately.
• Complete six professional development hours annually as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO: Kitchen Manager

JOB GOAL: Assist the central kitchen located at Auburn Middle School prepare meals for their students in addition to the satellite schools on a daily basis.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Arrives and leaves work at appointed times.
2. Work in collaboration with the team at Auburn Middle School in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner
3. Cashier training
4. Wash dishes, fill flatware stations, load milk, prepare meals, serve and daily clean up as assigned by manager.
5. Help replenish the food as needed
6. Adhere to Auburn School Department’s HAACP plan and follow strict protocols with cleaning and sanitizing including arriving to work in clean clothes,
7. Work together with staff at Auburn Middle School to check in and put away orders safely, accurately and equitably.
8. Complete required (six) professional development hours annually at the dates and times set by the Nutrition Director.
9. Other duties as assigned.
