Spanish Cove Retirement Village in Yukon, OK, is hiring a Kitchen Assistant in the Dietary Department to prepare breakfast and lunch for residents and staff. You will follow planned menus, use approved recipes, and help maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment.

The role requires weekend and holiday availability, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and adherence to health, safety, and infection-control policies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be physically able to lift, move, push, pull and transfer 50 lbs.
• Must follow planned menus and approved recipes for daily production.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area.
• Ability to work in a team and assist in dietary department operations.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with policies and infection control procedures.

Responsabilités

• Responsible for breakfast and lunch preparation for residents and staff.
• Work weekends and holidays as required.
• Lift, move and transfer up to 50 lbs.
• Obtain daily Production Sheet and follow Daily Production Sheet.
• Prepare meals per menu and recipes; assist in closing procedures.
• Keep the kitchen and walk-in areas clean; sanitize as required.
• Assist in loading/unloading supplies and maintain proper food storage.
• Support Food Service Supervisor and act as designee when needed.
• Participate in departmental meetings and safety procedures.

Essential Employee Position: Must be willing to work weekends, Holidays, and during inclement weather.

Shifts Available: 10:00am- 6:30pm

Pay Rate: $14.00

Summary:

Responsible for the preparation of Breakfast and Lunch for residents and employees according to the planned menu cycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Must be able to work weekends & holidays.
• Frequent lifting & moving. Must have the ability to lift, move, push, pull & transfer 50lbs with the physical capability to perform all job-related duties.
• Obtains daily Production Sheet from the Dietary office.
• Prepares breakfast and lunch according to the menu. Uses approved, standardized, recipes for Daily Production Sheet.
• Keeps all equipment and work area clean.
• Unloads produce, meat, dry goods, frozen foods, cleaning supplies, and some small equipment.
• Help with the final clean-up for the Dietary department before leaving for the day; sweep and mop floors and empty garbage and following the Daily Cleaning Schedule.
• Keep walk-in cooler and freezer clean and foods stored properly.
• Assist in loading/unloading dish racks when washing dishes and put clean dishes away.
• Turn-in Food Production Sheets to Dietary office at the end of the shift.
• Act as the designee for the Food Service Supervisor during hours when he/she is not present.
• Provide leadership in the event of any safety or unusual incident occurring in the facility and act accordingly.
• Interact with patients in the serving line and offer assistance with meal choices for a balanced, nutritional meal.
• Participate in Dietary departmental meetings.
• Participate in weekly, Dietary related conferences with the Food Service Supervisor
• Comply with established measure for infection control, OSHA regulations and Risk Management.
• Follow all Health Center and departmental policies and procedures.
• Check Production Sheet for foods needing to be prepared for the next day.
• Able to preserve confidentiality as authorized in Spanish Cove policy.
• Comply with the Employee’s Code of Ethics.
• Stay overtime in case of emergency.
• Attend monthly in-service education meetings.
