About You

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals that residents love. You’ll maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Your responsibilities include managing food supplies, maintaining fridge/freezer temperatures, training new starters, and cleaning. Resident wellbeing is your priority.

We seek a Kitchen Assistant with some kitchen experience and ideally an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or the willingness to obtain one. Good record-keeping, organizational skills, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with residents and colleagues.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You must recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. Attendance at safeguarding training and related courses is required, along with the ability to seek advice and escalate concerns when necessary.
