Job summary

Kids Unlimited is hiring a Kitchen Assistant to help prepare nutritious meals and serve students in our on-site kitchen. You will model healthy eating habits and support a positive dining environment.

You may also wash dishes and cookware, follow Kids Unlimited policies, and ensure compliance with USDA, CACFP and NSLP requirements. Pre-employment screening and background checks are required.

At Kids Unlimited we recognize the importance of healthy food. We know that many of our children suffer from hunger and often do not have access to proper nutrition outside of school. This is why we have made it a priority to incorporate nutrition education, an incredible school food program and garden education into what we do here at Kids Unlimited. Our food program gives each and every one of our students access to free breakfast, lunch and dinner at our school each day. We cook every single one of our school meals from scratch in our full kitchen.

Job Summary

The Kitchen Assistant helps to prepare nutritious food then serves meals to children. May also assist with washing dishes, utensils, and cookware; serves as a role model for the children in their attitudes and habits toward food; responsible for following Kids Unlimited policies and procedures. Responsible for following USDA, CACFP and NSLP requirements.

INTERACTION WITH CHILDREN, PARENTS, AND CO-WORKERS

Must relate in a positive, nurturing way, both verbally and physically, and be sensitive to the needs of children, parents, and co-workers.
