A leading company in food service is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the kitchen operations in a cafeteria. Responsibilities include food preparation, cooking, and maintaining cleanliness in compliance with health standards. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and experience in a commercial kitchen setting.

Kitchen Assistant is to help Kitchen Director with food preparation, service and cleanup in cafeteria.
Job Summary:
An individual who assists the director in the cafeteria performing tasks such as prepping food, cooking food, serving food, maintaining a clean cooking area, checking students and staff out at the register, inventory control, maintaining health department written logs, setting up and breaking down the cafeteria serving area, cleaning and organizing in the kitchen and storage area.
Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.
· HS diploma or equivalent
· Mobility and ability to bend and reach during an four-hour shift. Has visual and auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate information and maintain accurate records.
· Fine motor skills and legible and accurate writing of reports, daily correspondence and presentation either manually or orally.
· Basic computer skill to navigate and use our lunch program
· Excellent communication and verbal skills.
· Experience working in a commercial kitchen.
· Willingness to become a ServeSafe certified food handler
