Job summary

Portland Community College is hiring for a casual Cook at the Sylvania campus. The role supports the preparation and serving of nutritious meals for young children in a clean, safe kitchen environment. The position is part-time as a casual employee with limited hours per fiscal year.

Responsibilities include food prep, following menus and safety guidelines, washing dishes, and assisting with meal service and cleanup. Prior kitchen experience and ability to work with children are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Previous food service or kitchen experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working around young children.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move kitchen supplies as needed.

The Child Development Center Cook supports the preparation and service of nutritious meals and snacks for young children in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with food preparation, following menu and food-safety guidelines, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, washing dishes, organizing supplies, and supporting meal service and cleanup. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, works well with others, and enjoys working in an early childhood setting.

What You'll Do and Who We Are Looking For

Casual Compensation Hourly Range

$16.80 - $16.80
