Position Summary

The Kit & Equipment Assistant supports the day‑to‑day operational needs of the team and the Kit & Equipment Manager to ensure training sessions, match days, travel, visiting team coordination, equipment transportation, laundry operations and facility activities run smoothly.

Working closely with the Kit & Equipment Manager and Football Operations staff, this role contributes to the smooth delivery by providing hands‑on support at all team daily functions that maintain the professional standards of Bay FC and the execution of a high‑performance environment.

This position requires strong organization, attention to detail, professionalism, physical readiness, and a flexible schedule. A successful candidate helps maintain a clean, organized, and high‑performance environment while consistently supporting the needs of players, staff, and the broader club. This position will initially be based on‑site at our San Jose training facility and will transition to our new Treasure Island training facility once it opens in the new year.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare, distribute, and collect training kit for players and staff each day.
  • Assist in daily full team training sessions managing field equipment, i.e. pre‑training setup, post‑training breakdown, and transitions between drills during training.
  • Oversee and manage specific equipment needs for auxiliary training sessions (i.e. recovery, rehab, small group, non‑dressing, etc.).
  • Support with equipment set‑up and logistics at PayPal Park or other (home / away) venues.
  • Ensure all kit is appropriately labeled, organized, and stored according to club standards.
  • Support the customization process (names, numbers, competition patches) as required.

Laundry and Equipment Operations Management

  • Set up, pack, transport, and maintain training and match day equipment, including balls, cones, GPS units, mannequins, bibs, and medical/technical supplies.
  • Monitor equipment condition and report any damage or shortages to the Kit & Equipment Manager.
  • Assist in restocking consumables and ordering replacement gear.
  • Coordinate laundry cycles and maintain clean kit throughout the week.
  • Support with inventory management on all team gear for players and staff as well as field equipment.

Match Day Duties and Operations

  • Help with loading/unloading vehicles for home and away fixtures.
  • Prepare changing rooms and technical areas to required (high performance) standards.
  • Support bench and pitch‑side equipment setup (drinks, towels, warm‑up gear, communication devices).
  • Provide responsive assistance to coaching and performance staff during matches and warm‑ups.
  • Assist with equipment logistics pertaining to visiting team set‑up.

Travel Operations Support

  • Travel with team to designated away matches to provide operational and support for all equipment team needs.
  • Maintain valid driver’s license and ability to drive large vans or trucks for equipment transport.
  • Support Equipment Manager in daily functions and logistics from all aspects of an away trip including but not limited to airport logistics, hotel set up, driving equipment van, laundry and on field training set up and execution.

General Operational Support

  • Support the daily operations of Bay FC’s training hub at San Jose State as the primary point of contact for catering deliveries and custodial needs, restocking and inventory of team supplies, and ensuring a best‑in‑class environment for players and staff.
  • Support all departments with logistical responsibilities including team laundry, packing, and transporting team equipment between training facilities, PayPal Park, and the airport.
