Job summary

Arrow Child & Family Ministries is seeking a Family Outreach Specialist in Tyler, TX to build kinship connections for foster youth and promote permanency. The role emphasizes coordinating with families, applying research tools, and collaborating with the Permanency team.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, with preferred experience in kinship services and knowledge of child welfare laws and practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Experience with kinship/fictive kin placements and foster youth preferred.
• Knowledge of child welfare laws, regulations, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuity of relationships between family/community members and the child/youth.
• Engage extended family and community in permanency planning.
• Identify kin and placement options through interviews and research.
• Assist in life-long connections for older youth in need of support.
• Document case information into agency databases per protocol.
• Be on call on a rotating basis and work irregular hours when needed.
• Demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity with diverse families.
