Job summary

A Second Chance seeks a Kinship Explorer Navigator to support kinship-focused services ensuring safe, stable placements for children and youth in foster care. You will identify kinship options, engage kinship networks, and coordinate licensing steps while working closely with DHS.

Field-based work, after-hours availability, and strong collaboration with social services are required. A background in kinship care and child welfare is essential to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide kinship focused services to ensure safe, stable placements.
• Identify kinship resources in collaboration with DHS and the network.
• Collect and verify information for licensing processes (Childline/Criminal clearances).
• Maintain in-person connections with youth and families through field work.
• Conduct home assessments to confirm appropriate placements.
• Engage youth entering out-of-home placement to remain with kin where possible.
