Job summary

The University of Kentucky invites applicants for an opening as a STEPS Kinship Navigator. This position will work with Kentucky Kinship Resource Center program staff, DCBS, and the Kinship Navigator Supervisor to provide consultation to caregivers in kinship placements.

The role will be housed in a DCBS Regional Office in the Two Rivers Service Region and may require regional travel. The ideal candidate will demonstrate passion for kinship caregiving and a commitment to supporting caregivers,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or educational equivalency required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills essential.
Ability to collaborate with diverse groups and partners.
Strong interpersonal and critical thinking abilities.
Attention to detail and strong planning skills.

Responsibilities

Advise kinship caregivers on options and responsibilities for kinship care.
Connect caregivers with resources and complete referrals as needed.
Review and complete kinship-related forms with caregivers.
Remain a point of contact for kinship caregivers for future assistance.
Collaborate with DCBS staff to ensure timely services for kinship families.
Link kinship families to Kentucky Kinship Resource Center programs for ongoing support.
