Job summary

East West College of the Healing Arts is seeking an experienced Kinesiology 1 Instructor for the Fall Term in Portland. The role focuses on delivering introductory Kinesiology content tailored to massage therapy, emphasizing skeletal and muscular systems and how they apply to practice.

The instructor will assess learning, maintain records, provide feedback, and collaborate with faculty to integrate concepts across the massage therapy curriculum.

Qualifications

Kinesiology 1 Instructor

Fall Term Class Dates: Monday, October 5, 2026 to Wednesday, December 16, 2026

Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:30 – 9:30 pm

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate instructor to teach Kinesiology in our Massage Therapy Program. The ideal candidate will combine subject matter expertise with engaging teaching methods to prepare students for successful careers in massage therapy.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Deliver introductory level instruction in Kinesiology with specific emphasis on skeletal and muscular systems relevant to massage therapy practice.
  • Assess student learning through various methods including quizzes and homework assignments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
  • Provide regular feedback and support to students.
  • Collaborate with other faculty to ensure integration of course concepts across the massage therapy curriculum.
Required Qualifications
  • Licensed Massage Therapist or health care provider (DC, ND, PT, RN, etc.) with previous coursework/training in Kinesiology.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience teaching in a massage therapy program.
  • Experience with hands-on, kinesthetic teaching methods.
  • Knowledge of current research in massage therapy and bodywork.
