Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma and experience as a teacher aide or working with children.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and record student progress.
• Ability to work with individual children and small groups as directed.
• Physical ability to lift, position, and assist students.
• Will learn to perform basic medical procedures if needed.
• Ability to operate standard office and video equipment.
• Good human relations, patience and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional assistance for students and support skill development.
• Implement behavior plans and supervise learning centers and lunch/recess.
• Prepare classroom, organize materials, and handle attendance/ snack counts.
• Set up and operate audio-visual equipment.
• Support speech-related activities as directed by speech therapist.
• Perform clerical tasks and arrange field trips.
• Performs related work as required.
